Does the Social Security Number match Biblical Prophecy?
  • Rev. 13:16-17 "He also causeth everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark in his right hand or in his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name."


    The key word in the above scripture is "causeth." The anti-Christ does not force anyone to do anything. Just like God gives us free will. What the Anti-Christ does it offer you a choice, just like God does. You can choose to accept his mark or not, just like God lets you choose Jesus or reject him. There is no force; no injection against your will. No branding. No tatoo. He has just setup a system where if you want to participate in any sort of finanical transactions, you have to choose to use his Mark.

    When it says "buy or sell" what it's referring to is financial transactions. That could be buying a house, getting a job, or opening a checking account. So it's saying without this number you can't conduct any financial transactions. People carry their SSN in their heads (in their memory) or in their hand (the physical card.) Yes, they could also put a chip inside everyone, but what data will be on the chip? Certainly the SSN will be in that record. So whether it's in a chip or card or memory, it'll be the number that is in the head or hand. The vessel or method is irrelevent. It's all about the number. Ask King David what God thinks about numbering the people. Some people think the SSN only applies to the United States. This is not true. There is an International Social Security Association and 192 countries participate.

  • Rev. 13:18 "If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. The number is 666."


    There is more to this than you may first think. It says the mark is "man's number" not "a man's number" or "the number of a man." It means a number created by mankind. Just like civil government was created by mankind, so too was the Social Security System created by civil government to "provide for the needs of the people" at the request of the people. To see this clearly, see Rev. 17:15 "Then the angel said to me, "The waters you saw, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages." So the beast is a system created by the people. That system is codified into law by a civil government elected by the people and found at 42 US 666.

To recap; the number is needed to earn a living or conduct financial transactions; the number is created by mankind; the number is used to identify; the number system supplements (displaces) God and the number is associated with 666. The Social Security Number matches every one of these tenents.

Is there an other reasons we should think the Mark of the Beast is here now? Yes, all you have to do is compare what John saw with what you see around you right now.
